Sonu Nigam said at a music event held in Bengaluru, "I did not like that there was a boy who was not even his age before I was singing Kannada songs. He was threatening me so badly, 'Kannada, Kannada'. This is the reason for what happened in Pahalgam, right? This is the reason for what you are doing, what you did just now? Look who is standing in front. I love Kannada people, I love you guys". This statement of the singer gave rise to controversy on social media.

Sonu Nigam had apologized to the people of Karnataka

Sony Nigam shared a note on Instagram and wrote, "Sorry Karnataka. My love for you is bigger than my ego. Love you always". Fans are expressing their reaction on this post of the singer. He loves and respects Kannada people so much that he apologized many times and clarified the situation, but no one from Karnataka said a single word against those 4-5 people." Another fan wrote, "Sonu sir, there is a huge lack of respect for those who are still against him. In reality, this is a loss for the Karnataka industry".
